Accommodation details

Tricket Gate Barn is a converted barn adjacent to the owner’s B&B cottage.  It has been refurbished to a high standard with full central heating,  a modern well fitted kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, washing machine etc.
 
There is a brand new bathroom with both bath and shower. The cottage has still retained its charm and character.

There is a large living/dining room with oak beams and a stone fireplace with a wood burning stove.

There are two comfortable bedrooms, one double and one twin. Outside there is a small cottage garden which gets lots of sun, with seating area and barbeque.

The position of the cottage is excellent being in a quiet backwater on a country lane that shortly becomes a track and then a footpath leading right up onto the hills surrounding Castleton, whilst still being within 3 minutes walk of the centre of the village.
 
The range of  walks from the cottage is very good with flat walks along the valley bottom, through fields and along river banks, to climbs up onto the hills with moorland and beautiful views for many miles.

  • Prices are based on seven nights starting on a Friday
  • We are happy to take short bookings
  • i.e. Monday to Friday or Friday to Monday at quieter times of the year
  • Children and well behaved dogs are welcome
  • Dogs £10/week

Location

Picturesque Castleton is probably the best-known village in the Peak District. Dominated by the ruins of an ancient hilltop fortress, it commands an imposing position at the head of the Hope Valley.
